I am Very Well-Informed on Our CC&Rs and California HOA Laws
Greetings to all fellow homeowners in Solera Diamond Valley
We have a well-maintained and beautiful Community. However, as always, there are certainly improvements that can be made, especially in the operation of our Association. I want to become a board member and apply my background as an accomplished, creative engineer with broad operational experience and extensive knowledge of HOA laws and procedures. I fully intend to abide by all laws and regulations. If elected, I will work diligently to implement the following ideas (plus others that are suggested by the Community):
- Improve communication and transparency of the actions of the Board of Directors:
- Require Board Meeting Minutes to accurately and clearly document the proceedings, and be posted to the website in a timely fashion.
- Limit Executive Session proceedings to only those items mandated by law.
- Require the Board to vote on all contracts in Open Session providing visibility of spending.
- Allow member discussion of agenda items at Board Meetings.
- Provide an effective means to gather and evaluate member suggestions on important issues including daily operations, capital improvements, security and other areas of concern.
- Actively address and rectify any gross violations (e.g. abandoned homes, squatters and under-aged residents, etc.) by employing all legal avenues available.
- Expand the Association website to include ALL accurate governing documents, the posting of all executed contracts, an improved Blast tool and a useful FAQ section that can answer all major concerns, etc.
- Documentation and posting of all Association procedures, including:
- Pool Water Maintenance
- Detection of CC&R violations
- Yellow Card Process
- Suggestion Form Process, etc.
- Require Management and the Board to be trained in CC&Rs, ByLaws, Committee Charters, etc. (with training sessions open to all interested members).
- All emails and requests from members to Management to be answered in writing within 72 hours.
- Evaluate the effort and cost to make the Mountain View Lodge fully ADA-compliant.

Ballots will be mailed to each home
Ballots must be received on or before noon November 5th, 2024 by mail or hand carried to the meeting at the Mountain View Lodge on November 7th, 2024
The Association uses cumulative voting for the election of Board members (Bylaws §2.4.5).
There are three Board member positions up for election this year, so each household has three votes to cast.
- Give two votes to one candidate and one to another
- OR
- Give one vote to each of three different candidates
- OR
- Give all three votes to one candidate
